The Youth Ministry here at Mt. Zion Baptist Church offers teenagers in grades seven through twelve the opportunity to study the Bible with other like-minded teenagers. Because God expects the very best from our Christian lives, we strive to offer every available opportunity for teenagers to be involved in the ministries of the church. The Youth Department includes teenagers and friends from St. Clair and several surrounding communities. We are pleased to have young people from church families, as well as those from families currently not attending church. Some teens are from our Christian academy, others from home school families, and some attend public school. Many of our teens are actively serving the Lord in various ministries. One of our objectives in the Youth Department is to complement Bible teaching at home and in the church. We never want to pull teens away from parents, but always want to direct them toward their parents and their Godly counsel. Sunday School Each Sunday morning, all teenagers meet for an exciting time of Christian fellowship. At 10:00 a.m. we begin with an exciting rally consisting of songs and games, followed by a study of practical lessons from God's Word. Missions As our church financially supports missionaries all around the world, but our teenagers also takean active role in this missionary endeavor. Each week, we hear reports of the work of missionsfrom through the missionary letter that we read during Sunday School class. Occasionally, missions trips are made to visit the cultures of some of the missionaries we support. Locally, our teenagers meet each Wednesday for an organized time to go tell others about their need of salvation. Activities Throughout there are activities for teens to be involved in such as youth conferences, gym night, camps, lock-ins, and baseball games. Every month, there are activities to attend which encourage fellowship with other Christian teens from the area. |
