Preaching and Ministry Conference 2012 |
![]() I want to invite you to prayerfully consider attending our Preaching and Ministry Conference April 24-26, 2012. Our people are preparing, praying, and trusting the Lord to bless the meeting in a special way. This year’s conference theme is “Able Ministers” from II Corinthians 3:6. I am looking forward to being personally encouraged, challenged, and better equipped to serve as a result of the teaching, preaching, and fellowship.
SCHEDULE The conference begins with the 7:00 service on Tuesday evening and concludes after services Thursday evening. There will be services Wednesday and Thursday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. Occasionally, guests are able to come in early and be a part of our Sunday services, and we are honored by that.
PREACHING AND TEACHING We will anticipate hearing from about 15 different preachers, with two messages each evening and at least five each morning. Included in our schedule will be several sessions dealing with practical areas of the ministry; such as the church music ministry, our role as counselors, our strategy for reaching our Jerusalem, etc. I am always looking for ways to improve and benefit from the expertise of others.
MEALS AND LODGING The church will be providing the lunch and supper meals each day, beginning with supper at 5:30 Tuesday evening. It is very important that you register in advance to aid our volunteers in preparing .
The two local motels are Budget Lodging and Super 8. Budget Lodging is the motel we recommend. They are offering a conference rate of $55 which is 20% off their published rate. Ask for their conference rate at (636) 629-1000 or www.budgetlodging.com. REGISTRATION We ask that you register for the conference in advance. You may do so on our website, by calling the church office at (636) 629-2501.
MISCELLANEOUS If you need transportation from St. Louis Lambert Field, we will do our best to accommodate you. Independent Baptist missionaries, ministries, and publishers of like mind are encouraged to bring displays and materials (literature, music, books,etc.). We want to encourage the writing of sound Baptist material. We ask that you call the church office for details on this, or any other questions.
It is our prayer that the Lord will make it possible for you to attend. Pastor Thomas Smith
